When Work Gets Under Your Skin: Dedication that Sets New Standards

Olomouc - In today’s career blog, we’d like to introduce you to a true inspiration from our team: Bronislav Škoda, better known as “Broňa,” Head of the Tryout Line at our Olomouc location. He’s not only an expert in his field but someone who lives and breathes his work with every fiber of his being. His story shows just how much passion and commitment can flow into a career – and that sometimes, even tattoos can tell stories.

More Than Just a Job: When Dedication Becomes a Way of Life

There are many ways to show your connection to a company, but Broňa takes it a step further. On his upper arm, he has a tattoo that combines the weba logo with an airplane, machines, and a globe. It’s more than just ink on his skin – it’s a symbol of his deep bond with the company and the technology that weba stands for.

“It's a phase of my life that has left a mark not only on my skin but also on my heart. For me, weba is more than just an employer; it’s a part of my life. The tattoo will always remind me of that.”

His journey at weba is impressive and shows that at our company, dedication and passion are truly valued. From a summer worker in the design department to an assistant toolmaker and now the Head of the Tryout Line – Broňa has climbed every rung of the career ladder on his own. Supported by experienced colleagues and inspired by his father, who has been with weba for 33 years, he has found his own unique path.

From Summer Worker to Tryout Line Manager: Broňa’s Career Path at weba

“My first contact with weba was as a summer worker in the design department – that was quite a few years ago,” Broňa recalls. Back then, he started as an assistant toolmaker, learning from experienced colleagues and gradually working his way up. “Especially in the early years, I learned a lot, from technical skills to leadership competencies. It was a mix of passion, perseverance, and a desire to keep growing.”

His development at weba was significantly shaped by international projects. “The commissioning of tools for clients in Germany, Spain, and even China and the USA showed me how important precision and flexibility are.” Even after becoming a team leader in assembly, the learning never stopped: “The biggest challenge was to lead a team and find the balance between quality and a positive work environment.”

“I have learned so much at weba! From technical skills to soft skills, like how to deal with people,” Broňa shares. “I’ve always been fascinated by how machines work and how everything fits together. Since childhood, I’ve wanted to build, repair, and create things with my own hands.” Thanks to the experience and opportunities provided by the company, he’s grown from a fitter to his current role.

Advice for Young Talent: Full Commitment and Authenticity

Broňa advises tackling every task with full commitment and integrity. Your aim should always be to shape your work in a way that earns your own respect and makes you proud of what you’ve accomplished.

“Put your heart and soul into your work, and always do it to the best of your ability. Work in a way that allows you to look at yourself in the mirror with pride every morning.”

Balancing Work and Private Life: A Harmonious Blend

Despite his deep dedication to his work, Broňa knows how important it is to maintain the right balance. “I really love my job, but I also value the time I spend with my family and friends,” he explains. “Many of my friends are also my colleagues. Fortunately, weba supports activities outside the workday, like family days, celebrations, and sports events. This strengthens team spirit and recharges my energy.”

He prefers to spend his free time with his family. “I enjoy splashing around in the pool with my kids or going for a walk in the woods. To clear my head, I like to go cycling or work in the garden.”

A Strong Team for Strong Success

Whenever Broňa talks about his work, he always emphasizes his team. “Behind every success is a strong team,” he summarizes. The daily interaction and mutual support are, for him, the most important building blocks for success. “What really fulfills me is the daily exchange with an amazing team,” he says proudly.

His personal favorite quote to conclude? “Coming together is a beginning. Keeping together is progress. Working together is success.” – Henry Ford.
